Summer Work Travel USA




Introduction


Summer Work Travel is a popular program among a series of Exchange Visitor Programs hosted by the U.S. Department of State.

College and university students use their summer vacations to work in the United States, and after work, they can use their earned dollars to visit the United States.

Eligibility:


Full-time post-secondary students aged 18 or above who have successfully completed at least one semester;


Sufficiently proficient in English to successfully interact in an English-speaking environment;

Work hard and be responsible The participants will work and live together with their peers from all over the world in the United States. We hope that the participants can work hard, be serious and responsible, and show the style of Chinese youths.



Program Length:


Summer Vacation: Jun-1st at the earliest to Sep-15th at the latest
                             (3.5 months at most, including the time of travel)  
Program Process:



Before starts:

1. Understand the program and sign up

2. Oral English test

3. Sign agreement/Payment

4. Submit application materials

5. Match position/Interview

6. Receive job offer/Issue DS-2019 form

7. J-1 visa Orientation/Appointment

8. Visit the nearest U.S. Consulate

9. Pre-arrival Orientation/air ticket Purchase

During:

1. Log in to the SEVIS system as soon as you arrive in the United States.

2. Get your Social Security Number which is proof of legal work.


When you encounter any problems in the United States, please talk to your employer and sponsor in a timely manner.



After the completion of the program, participants return to their home country and obtain the program certificate issued by FlyingSheep.

Jobs

Since the program length is only 2-3 months in summer vacation, all the jobs are basic simple jobs that can be done after instant training. In the basic work, participants will not have much work pressure, which is conducive to their understanding of the United States and American culture from a more relaxed and free perspective.

Jobs are spread all over the United States, and the hourly salary varies. The salary is 1.5 times the salary when working for more than 40 hours a week. Depending on the nature of the jobs, some jobs have tips.
