Exchange Visitor Program& J1 Visa

In 1961, the U.S. Department of State enacted the Fulbright Act, establishing the Exchange Visitor Program to foster mutual understanding and friendly relations between the United States and nations worldwide. This initiative enables young people from across the globe to come to the United States for cultural exchange through work-based programs.

The program was first introduced to mainland China in 2006. Since then, it has enabled tens of thousands of Chinese university students and young adults to participate in cultural exchange in the United States each year on a J-1 visa.

The J-1 visa, officially designated as a cultural exchange visa, is specifically intended for individuals participating in approved exchange visitor programs in the United States.
